We recognise that clients demand specialist knowledge from barristers who are technically astute, excellent in court and aware of wider commercial issues and personable.
The St Philips Real Estate team presents a timely webinar on the new Commercial Rent (Coronavirus) Act 2022.
The effects of the coronavirus will be felt for many years, in particular for landlords and tenants who are in dispute over whether rent should be paid for premises that were shut down during the lockdowns imposed in the pandemic. The new Commercial Rent (Coronavirus) Act 2022, which received Royal Assent on 24 March 2022, attempts to deal with this thorny question and provides a unique arbitration mechanism for parties.
Taking place via Zoom on Thursday 26th May 2022 at 9.30am, this 60 minute webinar sees Christopher Buckingham looking at the scheme of the new Act and its implications for disputes between landlords and tenants. Then, Iqbal Mohammed, having been instructed on one of the first arbitral references under the Act, will examine how the arbitration procedure works and consider the issues parties are likely to encounter.
The right to refer to arbitration extends only to 23 September 2022 and clients are invited to attend this seminar to make the best use of its provisions.
